Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how StandKnown collects, uses, and protects information about visitors to our website and clients of our services. We aim for honest plain language, not legal theater.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you contact us (email, forms, calendar bookings), engage us for services, or sign up for communications, we collect the information you provide: name, business name, email, phone, and any details about your business and needs.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we collect limited analytics data when you visit standknown.com: page views, approximate location (country/ region-level), device type, browser, referring source, and interactions with calls-to-action. We do not collect any personally identifying information through this analytics without your explicit action (such as submitting a form).

Information from service engagements

When we work with you as a client, we access data in your marketing systems (Google Business Profile, website analytics, ad accounts, CRM if applicable) with your explicit authorization. We do not access this data without you adding us as a user or administrator.

2. How we use information

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide the services you request
  • To invoice and collect payment for services
  • To improve our website and services over time
  • To send occasional communications about StandKnown (you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not share your information with third parties except: (a) service providers who help us operate (hosting, email, payment processing), bound by equivalent confidentiality obligations; (b) when required by law.

3. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses minimal cookies and localStorage: a session identifier so visitor tracking does not double-count you, and preference storage (such as light/dark theme preference if applicable). We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. We may add Plausible, PostHog, or similar privacy-respecting analytics in the future and will update this policy if so.

4. Data retention

We retain client information for the duration of our engagement plus seven years for tax and legal purposes. Website visitor analytics data is retained for 24 months. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing team@standknown.com.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to: access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, request a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent for processing. To exercise any of these rights, email team@standknown.com.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No system is perfectly secure; we will promptly notify you of any confirmed breach that affects your data.

7. International users

StandKnown is based in the United States. If you access our services from outside the US, your information will be processed in the US where privacy laws may differ from your jurisdiction. By engaging us, you consent to this transfer.

8. Children's privacy

Our services are directed to businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us immediately.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be communicated via email to active clients. The latest version always lives at standknown.com/privacy.
